Bikram threw me off today

Hot yoga is usually a thrilling experience, but this class took it out of me, BIGtime.

Close to halfway through, during the standing poses, I became so dizzy and nauseous that I had to sit out a couple of my favorite poses :o/.

I'd faltered a bit. I'd forgotten to breathe through the nose while concentrating on the stretches and, on top of that, I'd avoided eating before the class because I went to an early one. (This hadn't been a problem before, but these things happen, I'm told.)

The instructor, who'd ushered me into the class telling me that his studio would be harder core than the other one I'd visited, seemed to be a strict one. But he must have seen my eyes cloud as I dropped to my mat, since he patted my head and said to recover. 

Determined, I felt lots better after some deep breathing, so I got up and finished strong. Still, the class gave me a headache that lasted all day!

Lesson learned: don't stop breathing! :o)
