Workout
angelic ashtanga
Led Ashtanga 730pm with Erica at Yoga Sutra. First class FREEEEE (yay) and they give you a week s-sp-special! This one had some variations in it that I've never come across in my wee, 3 led ashtanga class career. a whole series of postures starting in halasana (plow) where you hold onto your feet and then rock up to balance on your sit bones.
Place:
Yoga Sutra
Workout
a secret agent of peace
810 1 hr spiritual warrior class with Liz. I'm liking these in the am's before work...my muscles are tight so it's a good opener for the day, without overdoing it and moving my body too much before it's ready to do so. She keeps making me hold her shins in wheel and i dislike this. it's uncomfortable for my shoulder, but I haven't had the chance to give her my redonkulous rundown of injury.
Place:
Jivamukti Yoga School - Downtown Center
Workout
Tracy Anderson, my arse.
no really...the 20 min workout (you have to click on the link in Gwyneth's ridiculous blog to find the full 20 min thing) kicked my arse! ok, so I had a weird drink earlier that included artichoke liquor...so maybe i was feeling that...but ouch. if i really do this 3x/wk i'll be butt-tastic!

Workout
fantastico
11am jiva class. I'm staying in chelsea, on the west side and everything I do is on the east side...this means I've suddenly been blowing $ on cabs! made it to M's class with mere seconds to spare.

Workout
spiritual warrior
1 hr Spiritual Warrior Yoga class at Jivamukti with Liz at 810 am. She is cute and her personality is punchy. She was not skimpy on the "green goo" (as she called it. it's china gel...sorta like icy hot...feels great and soothing on the muscles as they work!) and also used the lavendar aloe lotion for savasana. might as well be at the spa!

Masala Bhangra Weekend!
Yesterday kicked off Masala Bhangra super celebration weekend. Our fantastic spirit guide, Sarina Jain, is celebrating her 10th anniversary (of MB) and releasing her 7th Masala Bhangra Workout DVD! um, yay! I happen to be IN this video as a backup dancer, um, yay again!
Workout
too tired to sep workouts into more than one post
hi. so tired. i'm living in chelsea this month. woo! just completed one of the most busy months of my life. capped off by dance thang and now moving my digs to manhattan for a little bit. i need a day off.
kundalini yoga yesterday. siri rishi at golden bridge! love.
Workout
yes yes yes!!!
I danced Bharatanatyam on stage and I DIDN'T F UP ROYALLY! YESSSSS! That's all I wanted, was to not fall on my face. I may not have been as graceful as when i'm practicing and relaxed, pity. And when your limbs are shaking with nerves it's difficult to keep the form crisp and clean.
Workout
last rehearsal
last rehearsal before show on saturday...
danced, but not over the top too hard as not to be super sore or exhausted.
as good as i can get, given the time limitations. so...swaha! (i give it up to the universe!)
pleating, ironing and pinning sari took me 1.5 hrs. and was a killer on my back. ironing sucks!

Prema is Divine Love
Prema means Divine Love in Sanskrit. What better name to describe a sparkling little star in Brooklyn could there be? This Yoga studio is Brooklyns answer to the call for authenticity in your Yoga practice.

oh dear god, i am so so not into GP or TA or these silly workouts as product things...but...but i looked at the video and it looks like it could really literally get my "ass in gear" in a few weeks time. I'm going to try to do it 3x/wk for 4 wks...oh exciting!!

bravo to the 30+ days of bikram! I once did 26 days but then was going out of town so that was that. once you get into the groove, it's amazing...but once out, its SOOO hard to convince yourself to try that again. just somehting about the hot yoga i noticed.
good luck with the hammie! hamstring injuries are not to be messed with so I hope everything is ok and that you don't push TOO hard! :)

is that a picture of the sculpture in union square? why are you looking at this for work? fascinating...has he told you anything yet? ;)
btw, the union sq sculpture is one of my favorite meeting spots. I like that piece of nyc, though i once had an nyc vermin interspecies experience there. that little patch was at one time overrun with rats AND pigeons AND squirrels...all out in the day, the bushes were moving like, well, like there were vermin in them. GROSS but also interesting to watch.
