A litle lightning never hurt anyone right?
Apparently, I've kinda stopped working out in the last few weeks and have decided just to run races. I'm not sure it's the best strategy, but it worked out tonight. I'm not sure whether the ridicoulous storm we had starting as soon as the gun went off helped distract me from the actual race or if I just planned on going slow helped me out. Either way, I ran a solida pace at ju

Recovery Run
I didn't have an exciting workout today because I figured I'd use a recovery day after my long race yesterday. I did 2 miles on the treadmill in 20 minutes. Woo! Now it's time to eat at the hotel lobby restaraunt. Sweet.
Workout
Super Hero Half Marathon Relay!
Today was my half marathon relay race. It was great. I have been pretty nervous about this race because I really didn't know what to expect and it's longer than I've run all year. Despite all that I really had a great run. I ran the race the way I wanted to, I started off at a good pace, ran the entire time, took walk breaks at the 4 water stations, and finished my half
Workout
Bike
I went for a bike ride today instead of running just to give my legs a break before my race on Saturday. I haven't been on a bike since the 50 mile challenge as part of whatever challenge that was (Feats of Summer maybe?). Anyway, it was a great ride. I made it about 8 miles in 40 minutes. Not too bad. Now it's off to eat bad and drink beer (I mean carbo load)...
Workout
I tricked myself
So I went out for what I had in my mind as a really easy run since I am supposed to do a "race" this weekend. I kept the mindset that I was gonna do a little longer than my normal run but I was going to take it really slow, Turns out, I went longer but also went faster than I thought I could. I guess if I just think slow, I go fast. Hopefully that works for me this weeke
Workout
This is May right?
I ran this morning! I had serious doubts about my own commitment and discipline but I got up a little before 6 and got out the door. It was 32 degrees. What is going on? I thought it was spring? I mean I can understand a 50 degree or even 45 degree morning, but freezing? WTF mother nature? Anyway, I did an out and back loop for a total of 3.3 miles.&nbs
Workout
Beach!
I worked out for a bit this morning on the beach with Twinklefee and Pittami. It was pretty relaxing which is what I wanted because I ran really far yesterday. I did do some sprints though when I was catching up from taking pictures (to be included later when I'm less tired). It felt really good to run fast again - I need to do that more often. Bed time. Thanks lad
Workout
So I have this relay race next weekend...
When I initially signed up for a half marathon relay a few months ago, I was like, "oh that'll be great. I'll have plenty of time to train right and it'll be a lot of fun." Now a week before the race I'm wondering if I really made the right decision. I still haven't been able to juggle work and working out to get in any sort of consistency, I'm working on it though, and to mak

Easy Run
Last night I got home from work and Pittami made me go run. Good thing, or I probably would've just made an excuse and sat on the couch all night. It was on OK run, I didn't take my watch so I don't know my pace or anything but I think that probably was the best thing for me right now. Now I'm off to try and do a long run. We'll see how this goes.

Hotel Gyms Bug Me
Despite travellling and working crazy hours the last two days, I forced myself up at 5AM so that I could get a workout in this morning. My third day in a row! I was totally pumped to do some tempo repeats on the treadmill but was really bummed when I got down to the hotel gym at quarter after 5 and found that one of the two treadmills was broken and the other was occupied by a guy i

Thanks! I couldn't follow up with another run this morning, instead I opted for some at home workouts. But I still got up early!

It was fun - by summer I'll get you jogging enough to talk so we can run around the beach together.

Ha way to go! One day, you're gonna wake up and realized you just ran a solid 3 or 4 miles and wonder what happened. And then you'll finally admit that you are, in fact, a runner.

I too have fallen into the trap of putting minutes instead of hours - oops. I'm really only at 10% complete. I did do a minute of sprinting though...

I didn't realize that tomorrow is the end of the challenge. I did 180 today. Does that mean I can do that more often?!

I did it! I did a set of 20 push-ups while I waited for the water to fill up the pitcher. I did another 10 push-ups while I waited for my work simulation to finish and I did a second set of 20 push-ups while I waited for another simulation to run. Sweet!

yea the treadmill sucks. I'm amazed you can do it for so long anyway! Despite it being so terrible outside you might find that once you're out there it's not so bad. That and you can pretend your a badass like me. Ha! I'd definitely recommend the proper apparel though - it makes the cold not so bad.

Ha silly girl. Just you wait until I drag your ass out around noon tomorrow for another run. This one will be for real though because it won't be a recovery day for me. Mwahaha!

Ha way to go. And it won't be a batman costume - either the Incredibles - because you know red spandex is kinda my thing. Or I may try and go the Super Mario Brothers Style - it will be the only time ever that I have a mustache. It's a tough call. Ha!
