Workout
Out on my MTB
Thursday's workout at the fitness center was OK; didn't stress myself after my illness. Howver, now that I really feel in the pink, I'm ready to push myself hard. I pushed up the hills around my house with some difficulty (over 500 meters ascent) in a limited space. Unfortuanately, the recent heavy rains really caused havoc on the mountain trails and in several areas I had to descend and walk.

Hard at work after a Debilitating Illness
After four days of fever and one week off work, I finally felt well enough to hit the fitness center. Did a light workout of the torso and felt pretty good afterwards.

Workout
A great ride below the Pre-Alps.
It was a gorgeous Sunday morning at the base of the Venetian Pre-Alps and the perfect condition for a wonderful MTB ride up and down the hills at the base of the Venetian Pre-Alps. With all the gusto of enjoying the ride, I travelled 42 km in 2 hr and 47 min. Through the meadows and the vineyards, it was a perfect morning, one that many other bikers also profitted from.
I just did 110 more minutes of Weightlifting, Circuit Training & CrossFit!
Workout
Great Upper Body Workout
I'm convinced. If you have a lot of stress, take it out on the fitness center equipment. I went to the fitness center, increased the load significantly and felt much better afterward. My workout emphasized the pecks, deltoids, triceps and abs.

I just did 240 more minutes of Running and Walking!
Workout
A strenuous workout under a beautiful Sun.
Yes, strenuous, but not your typical workout. Four hours under the Sun mowing the lawn and working around the house to beautiful its presence. You don't have to pant in order to break a sweat!

GREAT day for a road ride
Finally, after days and days of very bad weather and daily rains, today was the perfect day for getting on the ye old road bike. The air was cool, the sun warm and the wind was mild. After 2 hr and 55 min I had covered 76 km at an average 27 km/hr. With ascents totalling 335 m, I consumed 1735 kcal and was very satisfied with the training event.

Another Maintenance Workout
Still more rain and so today I worked out the upper body. Frustrated from the rain (and the students at school) I decided to push the muscles to exhaustion: deltoids, pectorals, biceps, triceps. Completed the workout with some hard crunches and situps.

Just maintaining
The rainy weather is limiting my cycling outings so in the fitness center I find relief. Today I worked on my leg muscles.
Leg press maxed out at 120 kg plus leg curl and leg extension. Some adductor, abductor and heal raises brought the most strenuous aspect of the work out to an end.

On the road again!
Woke up to a atmospheric situation revealing broken clouds and some sunlight. It looked like the rain was no where to be seen so I readied myself and took the road bike for a "spin". The air was very dense (high humidity) and the pedaling was tiring, but after 2 hr and 35 min I had gone 67 km (averaging 26 km/hr), ascended 325 meters, and burned off 1492 kcal.

I'm signing up for the weightlifting and the cycling categories. That way I'll be able to rack up the minutes and keep busy regardless of the weather. This period is notorious for storms and I hate pedaling when the rain falls. You see, I'm not a masochist!

I know what you mean; turning the pedals to the sound of music just ain't my cup of tea either. I get claustrophobic when exercising in a small room. On the other hand, going up and down the hills and the pre-Alps here in my area is the most exciting form of exercise I've found to date. Good luck and enjoy your bike.

I just hope the weather allows me an opportunity to use my bike in the great out doors. I hate spinning in a closed room.

Don't worry too much about the rain. I've been to Spain and Portugal in the late Spring and the weather is already WARM. You should really enjoy yourself and the weather as well. The vines will be turning green then and your eyes will enjoy the view.
