Had to cover for one of the girls at work so on the early shift and just going to note quickly that we rowed this morning (glad you could make it, eis4emily!!) and for once everyone was in sync. Good row! Wish it wasn't so muggy, though, and that I'd brought an extra shirt. Had to pick up a shirt and some food since I wasn't expecting to have to go to work right after. Oh well...

Up early and fought the tired to get over to spin class. Always glad when I make it to this particular class - the instructor's way positive and I never feel like I'm that far behind everyone. Plus eis4emily's usually there and it's always nice to know someone in a class.

Feeling very sheepish, tail between legs, coming back after pretty much two weeks of almost nothing. It wasn't so much falling as crashing, burning, and rolling off the wagon down a giant hill. It's not much of an exaggeration, considering how horrible spin class felt today.

Sore throat out of nowhere. Hit it with some coldeeze right away, and alternately gargled with cayenne pepper spiked warm water, and a mix of apple cider vinegar, warm water & raspberry tea all morning. Can't really do that at work though so I broke down and took some dayquil (or I could but it's not the most hygienic thing in the world).

Gotta get to work so before I forget again... Day 2 of 6X6:30 done (up yet again at 5:20), and second day of spin in a row. Nothing hurts, it just all feels a little rubbery. Muscles definitely remembered they did a spin class yesterday though...

Up to speed. Started a part-time job today, which makes my mornings a little more on the restricted side exercise-wise. So, I reinstated the 6x6:30 feat and was up at 5:20 to make it to a 6:30 spin class. Took the 30 min. abs class afterwards. And that's all for now 'cause it's early up again tomorrow.

Catch-up 2:
Sunday morning was gorgeous. Got a pretty good hour of tennis in, then went home intending to change and head in to catch up on some work at the office... and I fell asleep for a couple of hours. Probably needed it though, so can't complain. Haven't taken a nap in ages.

Sandyliz speaks nothing but good sense when she says that a day off is not a failure, but... I caved to the urge to make up for lost time today. Up at 5:20 for the third day in a row, and my friend J and I made it to spin! Holy hilly hell!

I guess yesterday was my day off for the week. I think I woke up before 6 yesterday, but I think I fell back asleep. It's a bit hazy, so I'm counting my 6:30 wake-ups from today (was up at 5:20, right before my alarm went off).

Regarding the crowd alert
Christy doesn't cap the class so sometimes it gets pretty packed - and by sometimes, I mean every Monday that isn't a holiday. Getting there early means you should be able to get a pair of gloves, but it isn't really going to fix the crowding issue.
i finally checked out the dates and i could probably make the 50, but it's going to be a squeeze. as for the feats, i didn't think i'd ever have a chance to do the day of silence, because drew would be highly offended if i refused to talk to him for a day, but he's out of town in august for a weekend... we'll see...

Thanks for the good common sense, sandyliz!! It's so easy to get sucked into feeling as if you need to do something sweat-inducing every day...

i'm being lazy (and you know when you're lazy on the internet, you've pretty much reached rock bottom of lazy) - what is Arnis?
white cherries... your food logs always make me hungry!

I'm starting to wonder if the cockroaches and the landlords of NY are in league with each other...
Thanks! I've gotten kinda neurotic about chemicals and whatnot, although apparently not so's I won't opt for convenience over paranoia every now and then:)

i'm such a sucker for buy one get one free stuff:) i've noticed that my smoothies are a little different every time i go - i've had the same flavor at a bunch of locations and sometimes it's pretty good and sometimes it's mostly ice and blueberry chunks:-/

I love the animal drills! We did them again today with suicides between each one, and squats while we waited for everyone to make it back to the side of the room. Erick looked like he was going to kill me... Definitely missed you today - we totally kick those boys asses at this stuff;)
Didn't get to froggy tag today:( I took pity on them and ended with that butterfly prep drill instead.

a friend of mine challenged me on the question of the best cupcakes in manhattan and while i haven't had all of them, tonnie's is awesome - we did a taste test last night and my place won:) bad night for his place, or so he says...
i take the muay thai offered at crunch, so even though the instructor teaches at a school, there are just some things we don't get to unfortunately (and some things we can't do). it'd be awesome to take it at a school!

Erick and I were talking about Starbucks's cheese plate today! Ok I guess that's not that weird. I never actually practiced my headstand this week - definitely will tomorrow.

Definitely easier to get the feats done working with someone else:) I think I may still try to go for the challenge on both types of plank because my forearm plank needs work. Thanks again for the handstand tip!! I'll probably be working on that all week now just 'cause I can get up there:)
I forgot to ask why you were late to class. The 4,5,6 lines always run slowly on the weekends - why is that??

that picture is awesome! i really don't have handstand trust - the only time i've felt solid in handstand was when i had three people spotting me and there was no kicking involved. maybe if i work extra hard on my core i'll be able to just lift my legs gently into it?
