Tuesday Run by the Lake
Did my usual Tuesday 3 miler. Legs were sore after last night's racquetball, but it was a good recovery run. The weather was perfect and I felt refreshed afterwards. I also turned on my Celtic music playlist, which I hadn't done in awhile. Nothing takes you up a hill stronger than the Battlefield Band.
Workout
Unexpected
Played racquetball one on one with P. He brought his game today, so I only scored one or two points per game. My high score was 4. But we both got a great 90 min workout. And laughed a lot.
Workout
another exciting title
Ran 5 by the lake today in the sunshine..... legs are becoming less pasty with each step.
Workout
Backtracking
Played some racquetball on Sunday and Monday. Sunday was one on one with a friend for an hour and Monday was an hour of Captain. But I really messed up my arm by slamming into the concrete wall so I'm taking a break. Ran 3 miler yesterday and felt pretty sluggish.

Guilty Workout
So I was determined to start writing a paper today! The weather was perfect: very rainy and very chilly, so there were no distractions there. Then I was asked to play some racquetball this afternoon with two friends. I mentioned I'll come an hour later, but it ended up an hour and a half later (couldn't find parking, got caught on the phone).
Workout
Back on the wagon
So as the challenge in January/February got harder, I felt guilty posting on SW. Eventually I felt so guilty I avoided the website altogether.
But I'm back and am going to start posting my workouts. Maybe I'll do a summer challenge (while I'm on break for grad school), but for now, I'm going to post for myself.
Today:

Week2 is much harder
This week has been crazy, as I've been finishing up a project for my winterim class. mkemojoe and I have been eating not so well this week... hopefully will return to better eating next week. And I need to get back on a normal sleep pattern. School starts tomorrow AND I've decided to start the 6:30 sleep discipline week. Good idea, or should I ease into it?

I love Rishi tea because they do a lot of really great blends.

But stability shoes ARE a fancy kind of shoe. They are not the $30 running shoes from Kohls. So in a sense, the study shows people with advanced shoes (neutral-cushion, stability, motion-control) and people with one kind of advanced shoe. I think the study would be different if they gave the test group all neutral-cushion vs. customized.
I currently have Nike Triax stability running shoes and have fewer injuries, even compared to other stability shoes that I owned. I'm not going to diss the Barefoot movement, but I like to be able to run outdoors in winter and even Vibrams won't protect my feet from the snow and ice of Milwaukee.

My cats like to walk under me when I do pushups or exercises on the stability ball.

I completely feel that way! I have a hard time finding the motivation to run outside sometimes (I live in Milwaukee) but that feeling of bad-assness totally makes the frozen face and tingling legs worth it.
