How Long Does It Take to Fall Out of Shape.....
From Self Magazine via Fitsugar:
As we move into the dog days of August, that going-to-get-my-best-body-ever summer motivation starts to wane, and we're more likely to skip a few days or weeks worth of workouts.

And I Rebounded....
Sometimes when you take a class week after week, it's good to switch it up. So I did. But when you go back, it feels soooooooo good!!!
Took a break from Rebounding, but tonight I went back and I remembered why I love it!
It's transcendental!

Equinox - 63rd Street

My Minutes Diary....
Started off my day with a breakfast and a two-hour hike with dog
Then, ran for 1 hour - big loop in the park - with running buddy and it was painless, fun and amazingly, easy (??!!)
Then my friend and walked down summer streets (which were over when we started) but walked to Union Square and shopped around
Came home walked the dog for 1 hr 20 minutes
Workout
It Never Gets Easier...
Training Camp kicks my butt. It just doesn't get easier. The plyo's, intense cardio drills, strength drills... much sweat, much soreness.
Great workout.

Equinox - 54th Street
Workout
Sometimes It's Good To try Something Different....
OK, so not really some-thing different but rather, some-one different. Urban Rebounding - different instructor = different workout but same fun! New instructor was uber dynamic, energetic and had a great personality. Very motivating.
Also, lots of hiking and walking today in Wave Hill -- a beautiful treasure so close to NYC!
Workout
Can't Log My Minutes???? If a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it does it make a sound?
I kicked butt today!!
Walked the dog until he couldn't walk anymore....and I mean 3 walks for an average of 2 hrs each (some more some less). Plus an hour run, BIG loop. Plus a walk from Whole Foods Columbus Circle to Apple Store back up Madison to East Side, food shopped, walked home ate and walked some more!!!
No CREDIT?!? Does it count?
Workout
And So I Accomplished My Summer FEAT!
I was hoping my oh so generous prize from SW (30 spin sessions at Ride the Zone) would finally make me like spin.
I tried it here and there and it just never stuck. I never enjoyed it.
Place:
Ride The Zone
Workout
Tabatas Are Hard!
Did Elev8! tonight and by far the two sets of Tabatas were the toughest. She said - push until you can't breathe but don't die, you should feel a little nauseous but not throw up, and a little light-headed but not pass out.
My heart rate soared and after class so did I :o)

Love A Double Header!
I truly love yoga but I realized I need the adrenaline rush of cardio...so I combine the two when I can...bootcamp/cardio/run followed by yoga = PERFECT!
Weekends were made for double headers!

Equinox - 74th Street

The Perfect Workout - 30/60/90
Interval Training is where it's at and 30/60/90 is interval training at its best. No breaks, constant movement, active recovery and moments of extreme intensity.
LOVE this class!

Born to Be FIT!
Love the weekends! Love that I am so active from morning to night!
Yesterday took back-to-back classes and basically walked all day sans the time I sat in my hairstylist's chair!
Same with today - 1 class and TONS of walking....headed out later for some more...
I seem to thrive on activity - it seems I was born to be FIT!

I love the relevant fitness posts and not so relevant, the comments and interactivity.
I just don't get 2.0.
Love the community of like minded people....

I have to say...Whole Foods makes this AMAZING kale / avocado salad - whenever I see they have it in the salad bar, my heart skips a beat :)

Not to mention the competitive element!

Politics do NOT belong in yoga nor in group fitness where you do not know your audience. WRONG.

Thanks to SW I finally accomplished my goal - in fact, I exceeded it. It started with my RTZ win! I slowly started to get into spin -- now, in this last week, I did spin 5 of 7 days!! I chose to spin instead of run in the park, I chose spin instead of taking a class with one of my favorite teachers....
I AM HOOKED. I LOVE SPIN! It finally happened and to SW, I am grateful.
Thank you!

Appreciate you sharing this story...what is sad is that someone DID take the job and millions of women succumbed to the promise of a great body - with the help of some pills - EASY.

Thanks...I may...My FALL challenge :o)
I like when the room is warm, but all that sweating in Bikram just got annoying - I was sliding, sweat dripping in my eyes in downward dog (probably didn't help that I had sunblock on my face ;)....

LOL. I love the competition!! Whenever soemone passes me in the Park, I think "No way!" and I fight my way passed them. This keeps me running faster and keeps me on my toes.
**I exclude men, I rationalize they have stronger legs...

Music definitely makes a workout more/less enjoyable -- especially in group fitness classes. The right song makes me push harder, the wrong one makes me want to crawl out of my skin!! Think Timbaland vs NIN - what a difference!!

2 points resonated:
"If I can’t work out I get really depressive. I'm obsessive compulsive about it. I do it five days a week."
and
"I think health is feeling good. I think there’s a lot of people that look great, but don’t feel good. When you pursue physical health, your mental health falls in line with that."
