Traning mode!
I keep skimming on recording my workouts which Coach has subtley reprimanded me for.
I extended my 9 miles three weeks ago and have been consistently going out every Sunday no matter how hung out or tired I am. During the week I do the loop one day, speed workout another and another just regular shorter run around 4-5 miles. On off days I dance Masala Bhangra.

In LOVE with the Loop
Friday: My apartment to the Reservoir and back with my coach's sister. I started out too fast, of course and when I normally would slack is where she picked up, so I was running pretty hard the whole time. Felt great but I am worried about these stomach cramps and side stiches I keep getting. But it was a good run, rare to find a running partner that I enjoy so much!!

Challenges! Feats!
SLEEP LOG: Last night I stayed up till 1 AM, then woke up at 7:30 AM still had to rush to work. 6.5 hours.
Daily Sun Salutations: Did half-assed ones as work. Need to really commit to that feat.
Home Food: All three meals. Only bought a banana. No meat.
Bed MADE!!!
Track and Field store opening!
New running apparel store on Madison Ave. between 78th and 77th Sts called Track and Field opens tomorrow, January 12th, from 10-7. Brazil comes to the US! Come in and say hi to me, I'll be working there!
Workout
Taking Suggestions for Mantras.
Today I squeezed in 40 minutes of running at the gym without paying any attention to pace or distance. I just ran. I got really crampy after 15 minutes. I have been getting cramps a lot more frequently and don't know why. Coach says I am probably running to fast. I agree that I am not warming up. It is the sprinter in me. But I am here for distance.

From West Africa to Central Park
My Saturday started with an 11:30 West Afrian Dance class at Alvin Ailey Extention on 9th Ave. and W55th st. There has been a lot of talk on the blogs about post New Year frustration with crowds of people at gyms and yoga studios etc. Here is one to top all of that: a new semester of children's classes at the Ailey School. Adorable kids in tutus and tights, IN MY BLOODY WAY.

Workout
Does dancing at a concert count as a workout?
I committed to the treadmill. 3 miles in the 8 minute mile range. My goal was 4 miles, but I actually ran out of time!!! WHERE DID MY SPEED GO?!?!?
I was better about treadmillness, but I still miss the wind on my face...Cheesy but true.

Workout
Battle with the Treadmill.
I reserved two half hour slots on the Treadmill at Dodge Fitness Center in order to have an uninterupted 6 mile run. As soon as I started running everything cramped up. It was the 4 hour yoga class no doubt. I started to burp up my peanut butter sandwich. Then my bangs started falling in my face, which I am not used to because I am usually running forward, not in place.

Workout
I Did a Headstand in Grand Central Station.
Another odd job to add to the list...4 hours of intense yoga in Vanderbuilt hall to promote an online financial company zendough.com. I wore a suit! The yoga was actually quite difficult, even thought the event was questionable in its coopting of the ancient tradition to sell a product.

Masala Bhangra!
First Masala Bhangra workout of the year. Awesome class. When Sarina Jain announced I was in her next workout video, I definitely felt like a minor celebrity.
Monday nights, Alvin Ailey Extention at 8pm. It's like an Indian wedding with less men.
