Workout
E/S/W 8: Hideout
The most despicable thing about the Standard North-East Liberal Arts School Gym is the fact that everyone goes, and at the SAME TIME. This means that my 40 min elliptical workout in my old "row for it" shirt and horribly broken out skin turns into an exercise in becoming invisible. No, I do not want to see you, Ex-Best-Frenemy.
Workout
E/S/W 7: Beef Patty
Being home, I took full advantage of the situation and went to I.AM.YOU Monday night. So good, my thighs are still sore from all the Downward Dog action. Too bad I fell totally off the wagon for "no late night snacking" Monday night...went out with a huge group of dudes, there was really no way for the night to NOT end with late night pizza.
Place:
I.AM.YOU. studio
Workout
E/S/W 6: Homecoming
Back home...rocked a 9:30 core fusion class. Still less bendy and not as skinny as the 80,000 UES mommies, but I feel awesome, and that's what counts, right?
Place:
Exhale - Midtown
Workout
E/S/W 5: Midday
So odd going to the gym at 1:30pm on a Thursday. I was surprised to find more people than I expected (aka more than just me) at the gym...Midday TV's still terrible though, so I brought some class reading. Only had time for 30 min elliptical + 2x10 pushups and about 3 minutes of arm/shoulder work.
Fall break starts tomorrow, so I'm back in the NYC which means 3 great things:
Workout
E/S/W 4: Invasion
40 min elliptical while listeing to the original "War of the Worlds" on my ipod for class.
what would YOU do if Aliens landed in rural NJ and had heat rays?
Workout
E/S/W 3: Blackout
Another 35 minutes on the elliptical today. The weather's been kind of stormy, but nothing too intense, which is why the TOTAL loss of power at the gym tonight was so bizzare. Turns out every single light across campus was completely out for about 20 minutes....including the traffic lights on my way home.
Workout
E/S/W 2: Awww
40 min eliptical today. Saw one of my professors at the gym, clearly taking coaching tips from his workout buddy, an older asian woman. Looked so awkward I wanted to hug him....obviously didn't since that's super creepy. Don't you miss college?
Dinner tonight: chicken breast in soy-ginger marinade with whole grain rice and scallions. Yum.
Personal Chef: 1/10
Workout
E/S/W 1: Back on the Wagon
Ok so I didn't exactly pass FOS with flying colors....or at all. Regardless, I felt better physically and mentally this summer than I had in a while, so I say, BRING IT ON, OCTOBER. I'm so ready.
Workout
FOS 19: Family Time
I took my Dad to spin class on Sunday.
Yes.
My dad's a pretty sporty guy. He occasionally crews on some 30-40 ft boats, runs 5 or 6 times a week. Not fit but sporty. I came home raving about the Team Ride on Saturday, so he figured he'd try it out.
I give him massive props for not getting off the bike, but he did stop.
Place:
Ride the Zone - East Hampton
Workout
FOS 18: Teamwork
Out in the Hamptons for the weekend, thought I'd rock a little Ride the Zone action, so i signed up for Marion and Holly's team ride....killer as usual. Loved the team motivation action (and an excuse to yell loudly for almost no reason at all). Also had a little celebrity sighting in the back of the class....EXCITING! Gotta love the Hamps.

Core Fusion is an ass-kicker if you do it right. You wouldn't think that standing on your toes and doing a few knee bends could be effective, but that 10 minutes at the barre works muscles like WHOA. So happy to find another core fusion fan!

I know what you mean about people thinking you're crazy. I can't stop talking about my workouts and I just see all my friends roll their eyes and ignore me. It's called being MOTIVATED! Props.

1. Yoga at Jivamukti or I.AM.YOU. Do it anyway, love it.
2. Core Fusion Open at Exhale CPS. Did a bunch of these in june/july, but kind of over it now.
3. Ride the Zone with Marion (Upper East Side). Crazy.
Though i would hate it, which i did for part of the class, but found myself singing (screaming?) along w/ marion by the end of the 45 min. Maybe I"ll go back???
