This is so sad. Ken's spin classes are great. Why is he retiring? He doesn't look like he's 65. Another great teacher leaving Crunch. It's turning from being great into a McGym. I was talking to a personal trainer who had moved to Crunch from New York Sport Club, who said that the clubs were exactly the same. Sad.

Here are a few simple rules:
1. When you arrive to register, please pick up your materials from either the “MEMBER” table or “NONMEMBER” table pending your Shorewalkers status. For the walk: $15 Nonmembers, $20 to become a Member, $25 for a family Membership. The Great Saunter is free to existing Shorewalkers members. Participants that paid AFTER pre-registration deadline will be indicated on a pre-paid list at the registration tables.
2. At certain points we will distribute water bottles and snacks, but we recommend you to start with your own. Drink plenty of water. There are numerous public restrooms along the way. We also encourage you to bring sunblock! There is no rain date.
3. Don’t get lost. Stay with the group or refer to “Directions at Difficult Points” and your map. If you are not familiar with the route, join a group.
4. Socialize with other participants– this is a social event not a race! Enjoy the countless sites of the natural and urban landscapes of New York City!
5. We share many pathways with other walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and skateboarders. Be considerate – pay attention to which lanes are designated for walkers and do not form large groups that block the walkway, preventing bicyclists and from pedaling through.
6. Walk safely. Neither Shorewalkers nor its members are responsible in any way for the hazards involved in walking or the condition of the pathways. As a walker in this event you assume the responsibilities and risks of walking. Please wear comfortable walking shoes!
7. Join us at the Heartland Brewery, to celebrate and to receive your certificate of completion when you complete The Great Saunter route.

Fellow Shorewalkers,
And since to look at trees in bloom
Eighty Springs are little room,
Through Inwood’s forests I shall go
To see the Dogwood hung with snow.
Help dedicate THE GREAT SAUNTER FOOT PATH, explored by the Shorewalkers over the past 25 years. The 32-MILE Great Saunter Foot Path goes through and along 21 parks. It is the coolest, longest prettiest waterfront walk in the USA. Please send letters asking Hon. Christine Quinn at the NYC Council, and Mayor Mike Bloomberg- to dedicate the Great Saunter Foot Path.
Listen to and learn the GREAT SAUNTER SONG available on youtube.com by typing in ‘Pete Seeger and Cy Adler.’
THE GREAT SAUNTER SONG:
You don’t know, you don’t know,
you don’t know this town,
Till you join Shorewalkers and
they get you walkin’ around.
I would like your help in revising my book on the Shorewalkers' BATT-TO- BEAR TRAIL. Please walk the route and email me your description of what you see, and how it has changed from my version in WALKING THE HUDSON- BATT TO BEAR. The information is available at: www.shorewalkers.org.
Walk for your health and for the environment! Enjoy the Spring.
Cheers,
Cy Adler

I'm a huge fan this idea. It's hard to force youself to take a break. Especially if you are overwhelmed with work. I find the advantages end up being huge.
In my own experience, the times that I work through the day, with no lunch break, are when I make big mistakes at the end of the day.
