Dear SW
I still don't understand the new site! I signed in today and clicked around...ehhhh...is anyone still on this blog site?! I quite enjoyed it but I stopped after my Thailand trip becasue no one was left on here...anyone still here? Spindig?
Ok well I need something to keep track of my work outs, rest days and other shizz. So I'm back even if there is no one left to read my stuff.
Workout
attempts and some successes. nothing new.
3.5 mile interval run.
Yoga included attempts at: peacock, scorpion, bound triangle
successes at pigeon, albatross, tripods and headstands.
oh and bumping into spindig!
Workout
Sunday workout
Been taking it easy. Class ended up being leg sparring and technical drills. I was so beat after but still did pull up training with the resistance band.
Workout
Punching and running.
lululemon yoga in the morning, muay thai pad work. Went to the Crunch punch out contest. I didn't go in wanting or expecting to win bc I don't want a boxing session but I thought it would be fun and it was! I met another female boxer/mt enthusiast and we had a good time. The trainer ran all over the ring which totally gassed me out..wasn't expecting that!

Keep trying my pull ups
skipped morning class and didn't have any plan for working out really. ended up in Muay Thai class later that night even though I never go on Friday nights! It was pretty fun and even did a pretty decent 2 mile run. Ate mad junk food after though. Some pull up training.

Bird's nest, yeah that's what I said!
Been fighting an on coming cold for days now...feeling run down but loading up on vitamins and now drinking bird's nest. yeah its a chinese thing.
8am Muay Thai class was all I could get done. Great padwork though.
Workout
YAY for flowy sequencing in yoga
Did a 2.5 mile run.
Yoga sub which was a nice treat bc I looooove the subber.
did some 15min of jump rope and hour of bag work with sit ups and push ups in between. worked on pull ups for a bit.
Place:
Crunch - Union Square
Workout
No clinching for lunch
A disappointing yoga class and lunch time Leg sparring

This happens to boxers and kick boxers a lot. You can pretty much do anything that doesnt involve getting hit in the ribs or anything like pull-ups or weight training, that involves using the muscles along your ribcage cause it'll fregggin hurt!

Hey Spin! Back in the west coast? Actually I must have wrote this post fast...Amrit's regular class is my favorite. Though I have made it to his hot yoga class...just not regularly bc its so late at night. Amrit teaches an awesome class ingeneral!
Where are you learning Aerial silks? I know...is anyone still on this old site? I can't get myself on 2.0... BTW..are you on FB? I am friends with some of the SW'ers on there...

Love Derek Beres, don't love that he did that in a class. Even though I wasn't there that sounds EXACTLY like the kind of class I don't want to be in. And I agree with his politics...but who wants to hear about that in Yoga? I get that some Yogi's have a more philosophical background and some are more into teaching just the asana. But there is something unnerving about wanting to push what you believe onto people, especially when you have them conviniently rounded up and ready to listen to your instructions already.
So there was that post a while ago about why your yoga teacher hates you? Well there should be one about why we hate yoga teachers! Bc so many are pushy like this! And I hate to say that about Derek...bc he is a cool dude. Maybe he went into the diatribe to get it out before class so that it wouldn't effect how he taught. I always hate when you can tell an instructor is in a weird mood by how they teach...

This story kind of disturbed me bc a male co-worker of mine pointed the story out in the news paper and kinda laughed at it. Mainly bc he thought it was ridiculous that a woman who dresses that way should have expected that going into the locker room. That totally didn't sit right with me.
But to answer you, Mr. Mohawk...I don't think any reporters should be all up in the locker room. Man or Woman. Its weird.

Yes I did! I was with a group so we had a system of waiting on different lines. It worked out!
I'm freezing Crunch bc I only use it for Yoga and I want to spend some time doing yoga in other places for a lil while. How are you??

I practice Yoga way more than I run. And I really like their running gear. If you've ever tried their stuff, you really can't deny it. I just wore a pair of lulu running shorts for a 3 mile run and then a 90 min hot yoga class...they don't really stay sweaty and wet. There is something to this wicking stuff they claim.
And I know you might think running skorts are douchebaggy, but to tell you the truth they are awesome in the summer time. Sometimes, I walk around in skirts and then I see a street Roda...I can't jump in and play Capoeira in a skirt...but behold, the running skort! And I have so totally done it before. Running skorts are quite awesome.
Why do people hate on Lulu? I work out in sweats or whatever workout clothes sometimes and if they're not great quality and you're not washing them immediately after you sweat in them...they get ruined fast. Maybe that's just me bc I sweat profusely...Anyways, just my 2 cents.

This was kind of a stupid article. There should be a blog article called "10 things that make me want to walk out of a yoga class."
When yoga teachers are good, they rock. When they suck...I get this extreme urge to throw and elbow at their nose. Not in a bad way though.

CJ it happens to me sort of often!
Erikka, I've only taken 2 classes so far and barely sweated. This is coming from someone who only takes about 2 push-ups to start sweating. The facilities are BOMB ass but yeah...the classes might not be so great for me.
Mo -what is up with the Yoga voice? The worst was when I had an instructor teach as if she was reading a children's book. So annoying!

I am inbetween on this one. I like physically practicing yoga but I dont like people pushing their spiritual stuff on me. I am not a fan of chanting anything but OM. But I do like beginning and ending the classes with the OMs. The incense makes me sneeze.

GREAT POST! This is inspiring...
I personally never weigh myself bc it can read anything depending on the time of day, or time in my cycle, etc.
Making good food choices is so hard to be consistent with but makes such a difference. Keep it up!
