Having trouble with change
In life, in SW in everything. SO I'm still posting here. went running yesterday,
Workout
wow I've been a slacker in August.
But I did go for yoga and a bike ride today. I have excuses but I'm sure no one including me wants to hear them.
Workout
yoga again.
It was a bad day. spending time on the mat was good.
Workout
hum... make up post
I realized that although my workout count is dismal for August, it's not THAT dismal - I forgot to log a workout last Tuesday. So this is making up for that.
Workout
Happy with my beer layer
Friday night I had an impromptu get together with my friend Jason. We are old friends, live in the same neighborhood and I run into him at the gym occasionally so we were talking about the gym and fitness,

Is that graceful woman in the mirror me??
Yes - it's true. I feel graceful on my mat. I've never felt graceful before. my nickname in high school was "grace" - because I was such a klutz. I've got scars and fat ankles from all the falls and trips and twists - I've even got a scar on my eyebrow from that time a few years ago when I walked into a very large building...
I just did 45 more minutes of Running and Walking!
I just did 30 more minutes of Cycling, Spinning, & Rowing!

run-yoga-run may be my new go-to
I've been a complete slacker in August - mostly do to emotional turmoil and being a general lazy ass (seriously - didn't leave the house sunday - just read an entire cheap novel) - but as we all know those endorphines help with the mood and looking hot means you can fake it til you make it so I'm getting back in the groove. One. day. at. a.

Run that man right out of my hair?
Well not really but it made for a high energy run. I broke dating rule #1 - getting my hopes up. Oh well. Thanks for the help NIN.
Workout
why can't I add minutes? - is MMM done???
I did yoga then 1.5 hours of biking up to a far away park and back today. It's been lovely. Now I'm headed to the roof for some quality time with a margarita and the hammock. All that's missing is companionship - but I'm used to that.

That picture is not flattering of her. She looks kind of deformed and too skinny in it. (or like a tranny a little)

This was the best gift I ever got my brother - but his commute is on a bike trail in Denver. I am not coordinated enough to not get killed in Philly traffic and drink coffee at the same time.

I owe the life I have today and all the wonderful things in it to getting rejected by 3 grad schools the first time I applied. A year later when I tried again - I was in a totally different place and it all worked out so much better! Be strong - focus on the AWESOME that is you (see the above comments!)

Honestly I don't think it's sad at all. She said "to eat more" not "to get skinny" and that's fine. Eating is fun. Food is yummy. Often it's social, often it's cathartic, and almost always it's pleasurable. I work out so I can eat more too. (it's not the only reason - I like being strong and flexible too - but it's a big one) It's the working out just to be skinny part that get's sad. If she's working out so she can eat more that means she's in touch with her body and knows that enjoying food and being active must be in balance. That's not necessarily all about vanity or looks.
I agree that working out for the right reasons is way better and ultimately more fulfilling than just going for vanity - but this conversation didn't trigger that for me. Working out so I can enjoy a guilt free meal knowing my body is in balance is absolutely an ok motiviation as far as I'm concerned.

I'm with Whatodds - our best challange yet was last summer because there was such a range of activities and you could customize it a little so those of us without easy access to a pool - for example - could now swim and still do the challange. That said - I'm in for this - it will be hard but I need the kick in the butt.

wow - this one's a real challange. 1000 in 28 is a lot. I'm going to have to really buckle down for this one.

I think the key is - everyone is different and just because it's "the best" for one person - doesn't mean it's right for you. I've heard more than one person say - "but this was reviewed well - so it must be right for me" - meanwhile they are giving themselves black eyes... (example - I LOVE champions for every day/yoga but running in them is a JOKE for me)
Also - yes - I know every word - all the verses - of the "titsling" song. Yeah Bette Midler. (I bet VH does too)
