Okay, breaking my NoWoW ("no workouts on weekends") rule just this once, to put the exlamation mark at the end of the month-long "sentence" that has been this Challenge. In the end, it didn't feel like a punishment at all and I look forward to building on what I achieved in the months to come, at a slightly reduced pace.

Woohoo! for weight loss
Really wasn't intending to loose a lot of weight in this challenge. Just wanted to be more fit, healthier and happier--achieved all of that, plus lost quite a bit of excess fat! Wasn't exactly overweight but it's nice to be super-slim (without going overboard, of course). Everyone is noticing; keep getting compliments. THANK YOU, CHALLENGE!

10/27 (delayed post): Didn't make it to the gym today because I felt like I might be coming down with a cold and wanted to avoid sharing my germs. It was a good opportunity to let my muscles rest a bit. :)

In the spirit of the EAT portion of the EAT, SWEAT, BLOG challenge, I have been modifying my diet and following the suggestions posted by Whole Foods. Also happen to shop there a lot, so very convenient.
Nice leafy greens, vegetables with deep colors, protein through tofu...
"Eat right and exercise"--who knew these oft repeated words of advice were so sound?

Just read an article stating men should try shorter sets with more reps, rather than the other way around, in order to build muscle. Giving it a whirl.

Running out of "exciting titles" but excitement of being in better shape doesn't fade.
Question to any readers: why won't eliptical machines allow more than 60 minutes? Not that I really want to go beyond that but curious if I missing a setting or something.

My doorman says there is "no excuse" not to go to the gym in grim weather and I took his advice to heart.

Today's workout: the usual 60 minutes on the elliptical (tried to increase but machine wouldn't allow; took that as a sign), and a lengthy weight session. Went at a different than usual time of day. Lots of "hard-core" gym-goers at this hour, which is added motivation.

Don't worry: I think there are lots of us out there in similar situations. I too struggled to post regularly and find fun ways to describe my workouts. Doing your best to meet the goals of the challenge is what matters!
