Victory over sleep!
Yes! This morning I practically jumped out of bed at 6:30! I'm loving it. By the time I went to the gym at 11:00am, I had already done the washing, answered all my emails, and given my study a makeover. Who knew sleeping less would leave me with so much more energy? Was I getting too much sleep?

DIY Feat: new class 1/5
The new-to-me class I tried today was V-Core, which is a stability ball workout. It was pretty good, and fun, but not life-changing. I already do many of the moves in my home workout, but I did learn a few new (and challenging) ones in this class. One move I would love to master is balancing on top of the ball on hands and knees.

Home workout-space accomplished
Our apartment is teeny-tiny so this was a challenge. I've always done my home workouts in the lounge, which means dragging various items of large furniture out of the way, and then putting it all back again afterwards. I hated doing that, so I rarely did home workouts.

Pilates killed me.
Took a more advanced pilates class than I normally do. I'm so dead now, all shivery and wobbly in all the right places. I'm going to be sore tomorrow.
I meant to run for 20 minutes on the treadmill after the class, but I was so tired that I only managed a measly 10.

Catch up - Wednesday
Finally got myself back at the gym after a week's absence. My body rejoiced!
• 35 minutes treadmill intervals
• 10 minutes wave stepper
• Powerplate squats and stretches

I was feeling low and didn't feel like going to the gym, and I was anyway so overloaded with work that I wouldn't have been able to go. Ended up doing a nice long stability ball session in the lounge.

I'm definitely more of an evening person - I'm most alert from about 9pm onwards. But I WANT to be a morning person! I've always admired people who get up really early.
liz, I'm going to try the gym tomorrow first thing, then take your suggestion and clean my house, maybe even do some washing!
Anything to keep myself away from the couch and the bed, because once I sit down comfortably, I'll be asleep in 0.1 seconds!

I keep forgetting my iPod headphones and it really really sucks. I would rather forget my shoes/pants/etc. because then at least I'm forced to either go home and fetch them, or just go home. And I would rather have no workout than a workout without my Bollywood hits playlist.

I've always done it this way round because I don't like doing pilates with a sweaty post-run body, but if I'm going to keep it up with this intense class, I'll definitely have to switch to running first!

That's so bizarre... What's the accepted colour for netball shorts? Or is it only pink that you're not allowed to wear?

I've also wondered about treadmill etiquette. At the gym I go to (which is very popular and busy) there is a 20 minute limit, after which you have to switch machines. So if there's a queue, it means you have to join it and wait for the next machine. But since there's probably about 40 treadmills and I go in off-peak times, I just keep going until I'm done. It's SO disruptive to a workout when you have to stop and restart just when you're getting into it!
