And So I Accomplished My Summer FEAT! I was hoping my oh so generous prize from SW (30 spin sessions at Ride the Zone) would finally make me like spin. I tried it here and there and it just never stuck. I never enjoyed it.
Real Ryderz Keep My Ego in Check! I am pretty fit in general. I have no problems in my cardio, bootcamp, rebounding, or yoga -type classes. BUT I started spinning....it's like a new language for my muscles!
Fri 4/23- Ride the Zone with Caroline! and then dinner!! best combo! I went to RTZ tonite. Anyway, Julie B. and my boss joined me..... It was so much fun! now that I am back in the bronx, it will be easier for me to go to Ride the Zone... while I was spinning, I was thinking, pizza and ice cream..
Stephen's crazy militant cyko ride Steven takes great pleasure sharing his experience as a marine as he teaches his one hour and thirty minute class on Sunday mornings. He caught me smiling, and yelled at me! "Kaitlyn, no smiling, now you lead this sprint....he made everyone watch me for what seemed like awhile and then catch up with me. I was exhausted so I was like, really? But he has great intentions.
Riding the double with Carrie ride the zone, 7:30-9:15: Carrie's double shot is always a great start to the day. A tough workout with great tunes and laughs along the ride make the crazy ride fly by. Tough switch backs, cyko climb, and tons of races while adding resistance. Love her! Food log:
Own it, Climb it, Burn it: Make. It. Happen. Yesterday's 8:30 spin with Marion was incredible. The energy lately has reached a new level. The sets of arm pulses we've been doing still burn like crazy, but when I glanced around the room as we were doing our fourth set of 50, I was amazed by how strong everyone looked. We also did 100 push ups like it was normal to be doing push ups while sprinting down hill.
quick update busy, busy monday. Workout: ride the Zone 9:30-10:30: Marion. My girl was on it...I love the monday morning energy. I totally fell into my own zone during the last sprint....love it.
It's a doubleshot day Workout: carrie 7:30-9:15. Awesomeness!! Food: hot water with lemon juice Clementine whole wheat toast with almond butter grilled salmon with dark leafy greens and olive oil. Tons of water to be continued..... ...simple dinner at home: two organic eggs with spinach and mushroom, sweet potato with a bit of organic butter, peppermint tea.
Jumped off the bike to join the dance workout Workout: 8:30-9:15: Marion, Ride the Zone. I love her new playlists and the hands free climb. 9:30-10:30: team zone with Carrie and Holly.
Sharing a cab with a Soul Cycle-er on my way to Ride The Zone As I left my apartment this morning I hoped for good cab karma....I didn't think about elevator karma. A very nice woman hopped into the elevator with me and we exchanged smiles a little laugh as it was clear that we were both in a rush to get to a workout somewhere.
A Social Workout type of Saturday It was a very big day! A morning workout that was intense and very social plus hosting a super fun party in my apartment for 40-50 people. So the workout was a four hour ride at Ride the Zone to benefit the Genetic Disease Foundation(www.knowyourgenes.org). Riding for charity at Ride the Zone is always a social experience!
TGIF!! Steven's class today at Ride the Zone was full of advanced moves. He loves to challenge us to ride up hill out of the saddle without holding onto the handlebars...its all core, kind of like a a fully extended tree pose in yoga or just riding a unicycle. He is also big into the push ups and sidecrunches. Today we did a total of 120 side crunches(60 on each side) and 100 pushups.
Thursday Double Shot Workout: ride the zone double shot: carrie green, 7:30-9:15am sidecrunches: 120 what I ate today: orange juice, almonds, tons of water, oatmeal with berries, 3 scrambled eggs with spinach and mushrooms, hot water with lemon juice, carrots, asparagus and hummus, two glasses of champagne.
Out straight today Just home from work and catching up on the day.. Workout: Marion: 8:30-9:15: rtz--she's the best. Team Zone with Carrie and Holly: 9:30-10:30--the are hilarious together! What I ate today: pre workout: two clemintines post workout: greek yogurt 2% with flax seed and fresh strawberries and blueberries.
the mechanical bull of bikes I think that the Real Ryders at Ride the Zone are very much like the mechanical bull at Mason Dixon. You have to hold on tight, but you need to go with the ride and not fight it. Go with the motion. Damn, Kaitlyn is probably an amazing mechanical bull rider.
One Hundred Pushups on a Real Ryder You know what?!? Marion is not kidding when she says RTZ's mission is to bring us to a new and uncomfortable place as soon as we're getting the knack of the tricks we've been working on. The latest: push ups while building a climb out of the saddle, hands diamond shaped with elbows pointed outwards.
Ride the Zone with Miss Sass! Sasseletics came to ride the zone with me! she did so well-her first class was advanced an 60 minutes long. Later on I was texting with Marion and she gave Sass the double thumbs up. Great energy-- Nice work, Sass! What I ate today: pre workout: hot h20 with two tsblespoons of organic lemon juice, small bottle of water to go
Steven is all over the abs and arms on the Real Ryder! Workout: Long Ride: 9:30-12:00. Sometimes you just need to burn all that crap away! We probably did 100 push ups in class today....this was a very challenging class. My arms, back and abs are feeling the extra attention. Food log: pre-workout: handful of almonds
No. More. Snow. Snow is beautiful. I like watching it fall. But I'm over it...I'm going to be working all over the city today and dread being out in the mess.
