running off my frustrations Stressful day.
When did I get so strong? Part of today's PT session was reverse pull ups. Normally Krystal stands behind me and gently pushes me up. Today she didn't. And I pumped out 10 before I felt I couldn't anymore and still she made me do 2 more. And the whole set again.
Two Firsts: Becoming Mayor of Crunch Union Square and walking out of yoga Mayor: I never thought that would happen. Yes, I work out a lot. But I only go to Union Square 3x a week. There are definitely people who go more than that (but apparently they don't foursquare). In the past I wouldn't check-in regularly because I thought I didn't have a chance of being mayor so it didn't matter. Until they made a special-the mayor gets a free water bottle with every check-in.
Working out never gets easy (so says Krystal) Today we did hundreds, diagonal toe touches, russian twists, mountain climbers, bosu squats, pull ups, pushups with feet elevated, step ups with a jump on the bench, dips, tricep pulldowns. I complained the entire time. But Krystal said if it gets easy it means I'm stronger and should be doing more.
Thanx to Krystal, Marc's classes will now be a lot harder for me During today's PT session, Marc came to 59th St Crunch. There was some sort of group fitness instructor event. I made a comment to Krystal that now that Marc saw me training he won't let me take it easy. There were times in the past where I was slacking off and he commented to me that he knows I workout and that I'm strong enough to do planks and mountain climbers and other crazy TRX things.
the MD, the HDL, the LDL, and the MMM. I went to the doctor today for a follow-up to last week's check-up. FYI: this lady has high cholesterol. Nothing outrageous...I was never on medication, but it's gone up to just under the 250s. Over the course of the past couple of years, it progressively lowered, probably as a result of my healthier diet, better stress management, and of course the fact that I became a workout beast.
Running in the tail winds of msh258! Today was the best motivation a gal could ask for, a workout with msh258! I woke up kinda allergy crabby this morning until I remember, msh and I said we would try that Antigravity Yoga class. Over IM during work we decided to tack on a run to that workout too.
the "llaves" to a good workout. Lacking inspiration for my workout, I was super-excited to hear from Ms. Llaves who wanted to see if we were still on for Anti-Gravity Yoga Wings that evening. Sure! Why not?! We vaguely planned to meet up after work, go for a run and do yoga. Solid plan, I'd say.
Back with Krystal! Yup. There is no way I can possibly afford it right now, but I re-hired my PT. And it was awesome! She said since I took a long break she would ease me back in. It was actually tough, but I was able to do most of it without complaining. That could only mean I am so much stronger than I was in January when I left her. My weight went down since my last session, but my BMI stayed.
Loving the Rebounding :) Took Urban Rebounding yesterday - definitely my favorite class because it is pure cardio and I HATE cardio - this is the only class that can get me to do it ...
no title Went to Crunch twice today. First took Marc's Cardio Sculpt at Lafayette. It was packed. Is it always that way or just because people had off today? Later I went to Union Sq for Buff Yoga. I was really excited to take it because I missed it the last two weeks. But Jess wasn't there and the sub did Power Yoga instead which was also very different from the way Jess does it.
New Gym - 3 Mile Run! I bit the bullet yesterday and joined Crunch Gym through the end of March so I have indoor options for half marathon training, because sometimes, like today, it is just not possible to run outside. Way too icy! But I need to get my training runs in, so I needed an option. Crunch made me a pretty decent offer and I took them up on it.
I ran like my life depended on it I made it to a MILE!!!!! Well, 1.01 miles. I did the extra one just for the push. After 3 minutes of running I was ready to collapse. But never mind the physical aspect, do you know how much mental strength it take for me to run that much? Once I was done though I was on a high. It took me close to 12 minutes. Since I was at 59th St. Crunch I went to tell Krystal.
Oh Inversions! I love being upside down. Seriously, I love it. I needed a break, a stretch, a relaxing but invigorating workout yesterday. I needed to be upside down. With timely encouragement from sandyliz, I skipped my planned omelet and hopped out the door in time to grab the next to last spot in Anti-Gravity yoga yesterday afternoon. It was delightful.
ultimate conditioning mario subbed for zuta for this class - not enough abs!
urban rebounding recently became obsessed with this class - it's equivalent to running 3 miles, but on a trampoline!
antigravity wooo antigravity
Antigravity Yay antigravity yoga wednesdays -- filling in all the posts I haven't written.
I didn't die! I ran for 30 minutes today.
