Marion Roaman is the founder of Ride the Zone, a spinning studio with locations on the Upper East Side and East Hampton.
I was in my early 20s and I got into the restaurant business, and suddenly I didn’t have the time to ride outdoors. I was a lost gym person. I’d go into the gym and not know what to do. But I’ll never forget this. I was upstairs at this gym I used to go to in Boulder, and I saw this woman walk out of what was the week before a tiny utility closet, and she was just absolutely drenched in sweat. You looked in the room and it was one bike facing the other six and a little boombox and this woman teaching these insane cycling classes. I jumped in and I was hooked.

Onward
Juice Cleanse: very successful finish. I broke the cleanse with a local apple(I can confirm that it was local, it tasted out of season). Not a great re-entry to solid foods. I took a bite and decided not to eat it. So disappointing!

Day Two: Juicing--going great. Day four without coffee and feeling good. I actually made it through the entire day today with caffeine. It's hard to juice this time of year because it is so cold out. successful finish to day two. One day left.
Workout: marion's cleansing zone at 10:30-11:15. She planned with less resistance, more speed intervals with recoveries.

Day one: I began level three of BPC today with success. i didn't freak about not having coffee! I enjoyed on cup of white tea at 6:30 pm so I'm feeling hopeful about giving up caffeine for a month or two. It really helps me to do this when I am busy. BPC is super convenient and I liked not having to think about my meals.

Challenges Everywhere
To start off my New Year's Edition Challenge with Social Workout, I am participating in the RTZ/BPC challenge which begins tomorrow. Ride the Zone and Blue Print Cleanse have been planning this three day cleanse for about a month. Today we all took the Cleanse Ride at 4pm and our juices were delivered to the studiio for us to bring home.

Race to RTZ: two voices
This morning I wasn't feeling it. My legs were tired and I wanted to rest or a light workout day. However, I already confirmed my 8:30 ride so I pushed myself to get there. It was a race to get there on time(of course, the subway wasn't to be seen when it was needed like 5 minutes ago). Deep breaths.

This morning I took advantage of the doubleshot special at RTZ. If you take the 7:30 and 8:30 the 7:30 is on the house and your punch card will get a punch for every 7:30 ride you take.
