Great spin tunes!
Holly rocked us out today at the 9:30 Pushing the Zone! I love the balace of letting go while moving forward; zoning out while holding yourself accountable. She helped us do this today.
My favorite three consecutive intervals:

I must beat the lady on bike number **
At RTZ, we support and encourage one another. However, I am sure I am not the only one in class that has a competitive streak that kicks in when excercising. I am mostly competitive with myself, striving to be my best and continue learning. And sometimes, in a group finess class, such as spinning I like to challenge myself to hold a fast pace longer or climb while staying ahead of the cadence.

2 workouts today! Ride the Zone Clinic and last class of All About You.. Legs.. with Julie Bobek
so today at 11:30am, I went to a Ride the Zone Clinic for beginners. It was FREE!!! It was so awesome, 3 friends joined me... all avid spinners.... since the group was small, we got a lot of attention and it was great!!! I was really using my core, afterwards I felt it in my waist... I met so many great people there, Jayvee, Nikki, Marion, Caroline, Steven, Jess.

Locavore day 2
The locavore feat is a lot easier when you are not just coming off a juice cleanse! On Friday, I went to the 97th street Greenmarket and bought fresh squash and sweet potatoes. Then I made a stop at whole foods and bought plain yogurt from Hudson Valley and local salmon. later that day, I was in the village so i bought some whole wheat bread twists at Amy's bread.
Workout
sweat, steamy windows, and trampolines
Workout: RTZ charity ride in East Hampton
Intention: send love, strength and support to Haiti
ride: totally intense and super advanced.
Top three intervals:
Heavy climb with hands behind the back in the saddle and then out of the saddle. It is all in the core. Holy smokes.

Uptown Spinners Raise Money for Haiti
Uplifting weekend news: Many people on the site have written about the various benefit yoga and fitness classes being held to raise money to help relief efforts in Haiti. (Tag your posts "Haiti," so people can find them easily!) Today we've gotten word that benefit rides hosted simultaneously in Manhattan and the Hamptons by Ride the Zone studios have raised $11,000 for the cause. Bravo to the philanthropic spinners, and to RTZ founder (and recent Social Workout interviewee) Marion Roaman.

Check this out: tricep dips while spinning
Workout: 9:30 Holly at Ride the Zone Holly led us through this amazing interval of races with arm work. Most of it was the standard switch backs with advanced options that burn my lats, triceps, and biceps.
