c'mon and dance right now.....
After a great warm up, Marion blasted " c'mon and dance right now" racing out of the saddle... which lit the spin room up with fluorescent energy. We raced intensly right into "California Girls" on a building climb. From there we climbed a big hill to "Airplane". And then the upper body stuff began: switch backs(holding deep to reach into lats and obliques) then 50 arm pulses on each arm.

Holly unknowingly made my day!
My friend Monica is in town from Rio; we've had a Friday evening dinner downtown on the calander for awhile now and then to be continued on Saturday morning with Holly at 9:30 RTZ/UES for just as long. I love riding next to Monica because she is so graceful in her ride. She has tons of indoor and outdoor cycling experience. It is clear that she is just not a spinner.

Staying in the Game
I am so proud of myself for going to Holly's class today. Yesterday was a long day and I had to talk 3 studens and 2 moms off the ledge. Oi!! So when, I finally finished up and met someone for dinner at Felice I was drained. Beware of the Felice Rose: it's delicous, refreshing and deceiving. Thus, I have a heavy head today. Holly was awesome; she totally picked up on that I was off.

Carrie taught an incredible class at Ride the Zone this morning. She taught "old school zone" at 9:30 am. It had more leg work than upper body work, but she managed to squeeze some in there. Steep long climbs, think adding resistance nine times from a generous flat and and the continuing on the top of the climb out of the saddle for an entire song and adding a little more!

Summer is around the corner!
A great weekend in East Hampton! The imminent summer energy was high at Ride the Zone. We're turning the corner! Marion's 9:30 cyko zone was as she describes: "on the insane side of things". We raced up a hill while adding resistance nine times. Yes, nine excrutiating times. I am so excited for Ride the Zone, they have so many exciting things happening.

Today, I took the 8:30 Old School Zone which had lots of climbs and races. I felt so good afterwards, I stayed for the 9:30 Tone Zone which is new on the schedule. We were out of the saddle a lot. We also did a lot of upper body work which has recently become an area I'd like to focus on.
