I took a morning Physique 57 class with a lady friend. I've always been curious about just what kind of workout Kelly Ripa is doing! It was a pretty intense toning workout, lots of jiggling, squatting, and thrusting of things while on your tippy toes. I was in an intermediate class, so I felt like an impostor floppy fish floundering in a sea of lithe Lululemon dolphins.

Early Promising Word on Bar Method Soho
Soho Mom filed the report to my voicemail just before 8 A.M.: "The place was packed at 6:30 A.M.," she said. "My thighs are shaking." I listened with cheek glued to mattress, bleary eyed from last glass of wine at Y@GL afterparty, but sorted out that she was talking about the recently opened Bar Method® studio in Soho, (which opening was duly noted by SW readers way back in April). My sense was that this was a positive review: "It's that Lotte Berk thing," she said. "The studio is gorgeous. And so is the teacher."

11:30-12:30: intermediate Physique 57 class: biceps, triceps, lat, plank, leg work, squats, glutes, abs.
12:45-1:45: 60 minute walk in Central Park
what I ate today:
1/2 cup all bran 1/2 cup dannon lowfat yogurt 3/4 cup mixed berries(blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)

P57: 11:30-12:30: since I began taking this class two years ago my core and back stength has improved. Tha stall bar has been awesome for strething out my spine. It killed my thighs and glutes today.

Mix up and unexpected fun with my favorite
My Saturday began with a jolt of panic because I overslept and missed Ride the Zone with Llaves. Fortunately, I was able to track her down after class for coffee and breakfast.
After breakfast, I scurried home to work with a student for an hour...an adorable ninth grade boy who articulated is learning style with incredible awareness. So cute.

Workout #101 for 2010
Wow! 101 workouts down for 2010. Most of them have been at ride the zone but others have included running, physique 57, and yoga. Today for #101, I took the intermrdiate class at Physique with Stephanie. This class does not get easier, the leg work burns and the glute work goes on and on. Why go? The results are fabulous.

- What's the best thing in your gym bag? A dry pair of leggings and long sleeve T-Shirt. After a sweaty ride at Ride the Zone I am drenched; putting on dry clothing feels so good.

Today I took the 1:00 pm P57 class with Antionetta. She is such a talented teacher. I highly recommend her class! Her alignment adjustments truly make a difference in the intensity of the workout.
