Day 10

Day 10?! You mean I'm only a fifth of the way through this?

Another hangover run, this one slightly less painful. Got about three miles in, mostly trail runs and a secret beach. Spent the afternoon at the beach with a friend's kids, who asked me to spin them around on the boogieboards (now THAT was a workout) and got a little sailing in.

Day 8

Found out last minute that I'd be spending the entire weekend in a bikini, which threw me into a workout-induced frenzy. Ran three miles, spent a half hour on elliptical, lifted weights, sit ups and jumped rope. Wanted to hit yoga afterwards but that just seemed like pushing it too far.

Jump rope for one minute with five crossovers: DONE!

Home Sweeeeet Hoooomme!

Drove home to Port Jervis for the weekend to visit my parents. I wasn't able to get home for fathers day so I planned on surprising my dad. Only to find out the surprise was on my because my dad took a last minute trip to Delaware with some buddies. No big I will just head home next weekend too.

Spent the beginning part of my session having my body fat done. Since both of my bosses were in a meeting I have to wait for the results when Mike has a chance.

I'm sure that is the way Billy Ocean originally wrote it. Today was another one of those moments where my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Or to be more accurate my workout was bigger than my body.

Day 7

Sky opened up and monsoons ensued once I left work, so I decided to go to the gym and take a sports conditioning class that is a reliable ass kicking and maybe knock out a few feats while I'm at it. At one point during the class I took off my shirt (it was miserably hot) and got a glimpse of my arms, which only as of the last year became problematic.

Feats of Summer Challenge Day 8 - Workout 2 "Camera Shy"

Mike and I decided to tape the session today to have a before and after on my footwork. The other day I felt like I was beginning to get the movements but today I felt awkward and clumsy. Well I guess it makes for a more dramatic before video. I will compile the before and after vidoes once we are done so you can see a side by side comparison.

I struggle with what really counts as a workout, and if my efforts are sufficient or not to have made a real difference. Today was one of those days. I've been very frustrated over lack of results lately - I've been working out consistently (mostly running) and working on improving my diet since February with only a few lbs. of weight loss and huge thighs to show for it.

Feats of Summer Challenge Day 8 - Workout 1 "Biting off more than I can chew"

When I plan my workouts I tend to overplan. Either by choosing a routine that can't fit into my timeframe. Or workouts that simply just wear me the hell out. Today was a little of both. The time simply didn't work but I would have been destroyed if I completed the workout. The killer is I have my session with Mike at 2 so I should save something.
