Spring 2010 New York City Yoga Teacher Training
Spring is coming. You're restless. Maybe you should cut your hair/rearrange your furniture/fly to Guatemala for a yoga retreat. Or maybe you should do something much more incremental, like yoga teacher training. If you've ever thought about it, you can scope the scene at Om Factory this weekend. They're hosting a free yoga class on Saturday from 1:30 - 3:30 with Amanda Wentworth and Holly Coles, who will be leading Om Factory's spring teacher training program, beginning April 10.
Om Factory isn't the only studio offering spring teacher training. A few others to check out if you're on the hunt:

Get Your Dance On at YogaWorks this Saturday
UPDATE MARCH 2011: Get Your Dance On is bigger than ever, and you can get the latest scoop on their Kickstarter page.
Flavorpill's Get Your Dance On is moving to Manhattan! Dress to sweat and show up at YogaWorks Soho for three hours of music, wine, chocolate, kombucha, and, of course, dancing, this Saturday from 7 - 10 pm. The cost for the night is $20, but it gets you a free week of yoga at YogaWorks and all proceeds benefit Housing Works. (YogaWorks members, cost is $10). The party kicks off right after the last savasana of the day, so if you're feeling über-fit, come for yoga, stay for dancing. And when you're tuckered out, there are two big party rooms, one for booty-shaking, and one for chilling, with pillows, dijeridoos and cello players. Plus, the saunas are yours for the using. As our friends at Flavorpill put it, "GYDO is all ages, all styles, all backgrounds, and all love." Dress to sweat. Tickets at the door or by calling Yogaworks at (212) 965-0801.

Wanderlust 2010 Tickets on Sale Today
Wanderlust, the world's first rock and yoga festival, went down last summer at Lake Tahoe. Our very own princessmichelle and nfolkert braved the patchouli to give us the full report on yoga trance dance and the crowds rocking feather earrings and fedoras. Verdict: "pretty terrific." If you want your very own piece of the folk vegan pie, advanced tickets for Wanderlust 2010, held July 29 - August 1, go on sale today. Elena Brower and Shiva Rea are back, Schuyler Grant is joining the mix, and Moby, MC Yogi, and Dave Stringer will be jamming. Prices start at $340. (via Yoga Journal).

A Feast of Wellness
Think of the New Year's Edition, now in its final minutes, as the main course. Consider the Love Challenge, poised to kick off tomorrow, as dessert. Think of us here at Social Workout as your hosts who are, like, giddy and delighted that you've all come to dinner. Also, think of us as the sort of hosts who are into risky social engineering. The kind who believe in spirit guides, for example, and who will be leading a virtual Feat Accomplishing ritual tomorrow at noon. Also, the kind that believe in group catharsis. On that note, please mark your calendars: When the dust clears from this meal, we'll be hosting a final victory toast. Specifically, February 22nd, at an amazing place called Brooklyn Boulders. You will get to climb, and drink, but not at the same time. More details to come.

Flinty and Cold Valentine's Day Adventures
If Valentine's Day makes you feel about as warm and fuzzy as a coatless walk across the tundra, perhaps you shouldn't fight those feelings. Maybe instead you should go with them and sign up for a Valentine's Day weekend winter survival skills camp:

Speed Dating Yoga
If you have neither love nor a job, Crunch has just the event for you. Friday, February 12th, at 4 p.m. (sorry employed people) Crunch Lafayette is hosting a speed dating yoga class. During "Flex Appeal" you'll rotate through a lineup of partners for an "invigorating" partner yoga workout. After class, everyone gets drink tickets to a nearby bar. Kinda cute. If you don't believe in yoga class love, perhaps you've forgotten the grand success of the "yoga blind date." If you're shy, the first 30 people get give-aways from Boy Meets Girl clothing, plus there are those drink tickets, so just pretend you're in it for the swag. Free and open to the public.
