Workout
Slipped in a Capoeira session and lots of naps.
Muay Thai=lots of leg sparring. Bruised knees and shins. Tons of fun. Squeezed that into a bit of Capoeira Roda play with a fellow Capoeirista. Worked on some handstand stuff after. Glad I got my Capoeira fix in since I was going to miss class. Headed to L.I. for family stuff.
Woke up at 7:30am. Went to bed at 12 midnight.

Where is my rest day?!
OOps I am a late poster. Sleep log: Mon night went to sleep around 1am. Woke up 7:30am. Tue went to bed at 1:30am and woke up at 7:15am. Sun salutations and made my bed. 9am Yoga really helped my sore muscles although there isn't much one can do about my glutes and quads. 6pm Arnis. Break in break out drill. Haven't done this one in awhile. Took a few tries to pick it up again.

I get my weekly brain fix here- working out metally as well as physically. I go to the gym during the day (more since getting laid off) and need stimulus in the p.m. that's better than plugging earphones into the late show on the treadmill or doing poorly executed side kicks in bad form b/c there's 25 people in the class.

Mechanical Bull Aftermath and why I should really take tomorrow off.
Last night I was utterly impressed by the amazingness of Sassletics on the mechanical bull. I truly believe the bull operator had to work a bit to shake her off that thing. Good times! And no, I did not get on the damn bull. Props to everyone else who did though, that looked tough...msh, tedesco, vonhottie and sandyliz. Y'alls are my heroes I swear!

I did this Yoga event in Grand Central today with my girl P. It was one of these marketing PR thingies. They paid us to do Yoga for a few hours and gave us freebies like Yoga mats and coffee cups. Kinda cool. My friend came over after and we practiced teaching each other then went to Reach to teach some of the teens there. It went great and the space looked awesome. Then headed to Capoeira.

Headstands help me keep warm.
Why is it cold...everywhere...EVERYWHERE! My apt, the subway, the gym!? I can't stop being cold! I practiced headstands before Muay Thai class bc I was so damn cold. Oh and sunsalutations. YAY! Tree posing happened behind the front desk since I was super bored this morning and the gym was so dead.

Knees are the new Roundhouses.
Sun Salutations, hip openers, IT band stretches and ofcourse, handstands, headstands and tree poses. I didn't practice for too long. I felt dehydrated today and got a headache. Maybe from standing on my head? Actually the Judo/BJJ coach told me some of my headstand moves are good for grappling...they are trying to recruite me! I won't do it...

Yoga is my new 3rd job.
I taught my first real private client today. Yoga. It was cool. He is kind of an old guy but very active doing martial arts and stuff. Since I also do martial arts it was easy to come up with a sequence that would be helpful and restorative. He enjoyed all the intense hip opening and IT Band stretches.

Took my first Yoga class back at the studio since the program ended. It was nice! Then I assisted my last class! DONE! I wanted my certificate today but the owner wasn't there damnit. Gonna get it tomorrorw when I go in to take class! Then I taught Yoga to my friend.

Muay Thai class was full of hard drills...which I welcome...I like multiple roundhouse drills. Sometimes I feel like I can throw roundhouses forever! Except when I get to about 20. I wonder how many I could do in a minute these days...need someone to time and hold pads for me to see...
