may 31 - not enough to count as a workout, but more than none

yesterday and today were totally packed, leave the house at 8am and don't come home until midnight kinds of days. but i managed to get in some movement - taking the 5 flights of stairs instead of the elevator, parking a few blocks away and walking, etc.

may challenge on the road

i'm leaving tomorrow morning to go on a business trip, coming back thursday night. i'm a bit nervous to see how i do with the challenge while on the road - i can do my physique 57 stuff in the hotel room, and i've got maps so i can walk to parks and good walking routes, but i don't know how well i'll do fitting it into travel and conference and such.

may 12 - accidental rest day

came home from work, went in the bedroom to get changed for the gym. sat down on the bed, cuddled with the cat for a moment, and BOOM it was three hours later and i'd taken an accidental nap! figured that meant i needed the rest.

did 15 reps of my 2 daily physique57 exercises.

portion control

i already feel like i eat pretty healthy foods - the problem is just that i eat too much of those healthy foods, which ends up adding up to too many calories and too many fat calories, even though the foods themselves are pretty ok.

ow. sore.

i am feeling sore. i've got general achiness in my legs and shoulders, but my core is Sore. and hurty. :(

may 3 - time to go outside

it's a beautiful day here, so i slathered on the sunscreen and walked down to the farmer's market. (1.5 miles each way.) got tons of good produce, including asparagus, arugula, carrots, mushrooms, tangerines, and chinese eggplant.

got a bit hot and sweaty on the way back, especially with the added weight of my produce to carry, but it was good to be out in the world, seeing people and things.

may 2 - body awareness

was pressed for time but absolutely had to get in a workout - after doing my 30 minutes of pilates/yoga, i felt at least half an inch taller and had worked out the tension and stiffness in my back and hips. it feels so good to have my posture and alignment right.

caught up on sleep. slept 9 hours at night, then took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. no exercise, but the sleep definitely helped make my body feel better.

april 29

weight training. in the spirit of a big push for the end of the BOWC for april, i added extra reps to all of my sets. then, when i finished, i paused for a minute and then thought, i could probably get through another set. let's do it! so i did a full extra set - with extra reps! - to finish things off. i felt strong and powerful and there's no way i would have done it without that extra push!

pilates and core work. i could tell i've been slacking a bit on the strength training and pulling out of that triangle pose required more effort than usual.
