Someday, Emily Is Going To Be All Over CrossFit
Every day, we give you a snapshot of one fellow striver in fitness. We ask personal questions, he or she boldly answers. Today's snapshot: Emily, aka allenem.
- What's your go-to workout? I'm in stage 3 of New Rules of Lifting for Women, so that takes up the majority of my workout time.
- What would you do if you had all the time/ability in the world? CrossFit. It scares the bejesus out of me, but I'm very fascinated by it.
- What's your secret (fitness-related) sin? I kind of hate outdoor exercise. As much as I want to run outside, it's just not my thing.
- What's the healthiest thing you eat? I've realized that I need to prepare my lunches in advance, otherwise it derails me all week. I usually make a big batch of a protein, grain, veggie concoction on Sunday and eat it throughout the week.
- What's your number one workout spot? Las Vegas Athletic Club - North Rainbow. It's cheap, convenient and has most everything I need.
- What do you wear to the gym? Boring yoga pants and an old t-shirt or tank top. It's by no means glamorous, but it gets the job done.
- What's the best thing in your gym bag? I'm growing out my bangs right now, so headbands are crucial.
- What are you just never going to try? I'm not a fan of fasts and cleanses. Not judging other people who do them, but it will never be my thing. I like food too much! Also: Shake Weight.
- What superhero (real life or fictional) most inspires you? Elizabeth Edwards. She's smart as all get out and tough as nails.
