Has anyone actually had a flesh-eating fish manicure?
For health reasons, a NY state senator wants to ban the practice of allowing flesh eating mini-carp to nibble dead skin off of feet at nail salons.
Oh but why?
"Proponents of such bans argue that allowing fish to feast on feet in tubs of open water flies in the face of rigorous health regulations that licensed cosmetologists must otherwise meet."
No, this is not a workout, but it is health related. Thought I'd throw it out there for SW. If anyone has had this done, I'm curious and repulsed. Please do tell what it was like and whether your feet were baby ass smooth or all nibbled and raggedy.

There's a brackish-water pond at my beach house in Hawai'i, and when I was a kid, my siblings and I would put our feet in the water and wait for the little shrimp to eat the skin off our toes. The game was to see how long you could stand it, because it really tickled. The shrimp were much smaller than those carp, though. And I only ever lasted about 5 minutes, so I can't tell you what the real benefits might have been.
Anyway, if it's not in a naturally-occurring pond, I wouldn't do it.

Funny you should mention this - I'm meeting my family in Singapore for a late Christmas this year and I was thinking about taking my sister to get one of these at the Singapore Aquarium for her Christmas gift. Many fish live off of dead remains anyway and they keep the water clean so I don't see what the problem is. I'm pretty sure its not better than other exfoliation methods, but it has the novelty factor.
